What the Isrealis are currently doing to the Palestinian people is a disgrace. For those that don't know, this is what has been happening:
* On June 9th, Israel shelled a beach in Beit Lahiya killing 8 civilians and injuring 32. At the site of the killing, Human Rights Watch found evidence of a 155mm artillery shell consistent with those fired from an Israeli M-109 Self-Propelled Artillery. Between 2000-2005, the United States licensed to Israel $69,163 worth of M-109 spare parts and 155mm artillery shells.
* On June 13th, Israeli aircraft fired missiles at a van in an extrajudicial assassination of two Palestinians in Gaza City. A second barrage of missiles fired shortly afterward killed nine Palestinian bystanders.
* On June 20th, Israeli aircraft fired at least one missile at a car in an extrajudicial assassination attempt on a road between Jabalya and Gaza City. The missile missed its intended target and killed three Palestinian children and wounded 15.
* On June 27th, Israel launched a massive invasion of the Gaza Strip. Israeli aircraft fired missiles targeting civilian infrastructure. In illegal acts of collective punishment, Israel demolished three key bridges, the Gaza Strip's only electricity generation plant, and part of a university, thereby endangering Palestinian human rights to food, water, health, electricity, education, and freedom of movement. Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert admitted that the purpose of these measures is to "apply pressure" to the civilian population of the Gaza Strip.

Israel's month of killing civilians and destroying civilian infrastructure in the Gaza Strip is a clear reminder that Israel remains the occupying power of the Gaza Strip despite last year's "unilateral disengagement". Living under military occupation, the Palestinians of the Gaza Strip are "protected persons" under the terms of the Geneva Conventions. Israel's targeting of civilians and civilian infrastructure in the Gaza Strip is a violation of the Geneva Conventions and constitutes war crimes.

As Americans we should stand up to those in power and demand an end to these atrocities!

The Miami Seven

It's sad to see more young, working-class men deceived by this so-called "war of jihad". I firmly believe that this is just another way of co-opting the proletariat into fighting each other. Osama bin-Laden(who's a rich man himself) and the rest of the evil ruling-class arab dictators(the Saudis, the Iranian shahs) are just brainwashing the poor Islamic masses into doing their dirty work for them. The working-classes of all countries should unite against their rich rulers and stop fighting amongst themselves.

Hypocrisy

Yesterday, Ralph Reed's corruption was exposed by a Senate Committee report on convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff, American Indian casinos, and the web of deceit and scandal in Washington. Reed, as you know, is the former head of the Christian Coalition and current candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Georgia.
In a nearly 400-page report, the Senate Indian Affairs Committee revealed emails in which Abramoff said that Reed was an ideologue "as far as cash goes." In addition, one of the tribal casino leaders said that they needed to hide their payments to Reed: "It can’t get out. He’s Christian Coalition. It wouldn’t look good if they’re receiving money from a casino-operating tribe to oppose gaming. It would be kind of like hypocritical."
I'm sick and tired of these fake Christians making my faith look bad. True followers of Christ would never do such a thing. Hopefully the people of Georgia will see through this man's lies and elect a Lieutenant Governor who has some honor.

6 year-old arrested

Today I see on the news that in a New York City public school kindergarten class, police were called on a 6 year-old for throwing a temper tantrum!! The cops took the kid away. This is unbelievable that we live in a society where even children are subject to police opression. What ever happened to good teachers who know how to handle children, not call the police on them. Also, what kind of people are these police officers that they would drag a kindergartener out of the classroom kicking and screaming? Don't they have children of their own? If not, do they even have souls?

Let's face facts

The vote on Iraq in the Senate today was a nice gesture on behalf of John Kerry and Russ Feingold, but we all knew it would go nowhere. As much as I am against the illegal occupation of Iraq. The fact is we will NEVER leave. We're already building permanent bases there. We'll always occupy Iraq with these bases just like we do in Germany and South Korea. It's not right, but that's the way it is, unfortunately.

Please help the suffering

Responding to growing conflict between states and the federal government over the issue of medical marijuana, Reps. Maurice Hinchey (D-NY) and Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) will offer an amendment later this month to the Science, State, and Justice spending bill to forbid the U.S. Justice Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) from spending any federal tax dollars to target and prosecute patients who possess or use medicinal cannabis in compliance with their state laws. Eighty percent of the American public supports the physician-supervised use of cannabis as a medicine, and they do not wish to see their tax dollars wasted by those in Congress who would target the sick and dying in their overzealous war on drugs. Last year, 161 members of Congress voted in favor of Hinchey-Rohrabacher, but we need 57 more members to join with them to stop Washington's war on patients.

Please e-mail your rep. to urge them to not forget the sick and dying, and to allow them to have the medicine they need.

Back again for the very first time

I'm back, after journeying through the proletariet masses, and the crowded ghetto streets. Fascism is alive and well in the U. S. today, make no mistake about it! Fear mongering and sabre-rattling are in fashion amongst our leaders, while the government is run like a corporation. The House repeals the estate tax, and then attempts to say we are spending more money than we are taking in. Really, huh!? Maybe if we taxed the rich a little more, then everything would be okay. Oh wait, I forgot they need another ivory back scratcher. It's disgusting.

Roberts

Now, I'm the biggest Bush-basher out there, but let's not attack his Supreme Court nominee until we have a reason. He's a buddy of Bush, so it shouldn't be too hard. Oh, and leave his kid alone. If I was 4 and my father was about to be on the Supreme Court, I would dance on national television too! The kid's set for life, as far as money, college, and Washington contacts go.

Retarded?!?!

I saw a guy walking slowly on the street mumbling to himself today. This being New York, I thought nothing of it except he wore nice clothes and was at a tourist spot. Then I noticed he had one of those bluetooth wireless cell-phone earpieces. But I had to really look to see it. To a casual passerby he seemed like a mental patient. I can understand using them while driving, but is it too hard to hold a cell-phone, which weighs what?like a gram!? It seems the world gets lazier everyday. But so am I, so why complain?

Another right lost!!

Listen, I hate Terrorists as much as the next guy, but to "randomly" search bags when they get onthe subway or ferry is ridiculous. If it's a young arab man, okay. But, an old white lady or a little black kid is just ridiculous. I don't believe in racial profiling, but if we have to search some people, let's be smart about it.
